IT Infrastructure Engineer

The IT Infrastructure Engineer forms part of an exciting, dynamic and busy IT department, delivering projects, mentoring juniors and being the escalation point for all IT related queries across the company.
It's a great role if you're looking to get involved in a wide variety of projects, within a dynamic and fast paced environment. You'll need to be a real team player and understand the importance of delivering projects on-time, and to scope. Working with a wide variety of stakeholders you'll need to demonstrate exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal, alongside your technical expertise.
What you'll do:
- Requirements gathering with business stakeholders to scope and support IT projects.
- Liaise with vendors & suppliers to find the right hardware or software for the business.
- Create Statement of Works and Project Deployment Plans.
- Train and mentor junior IT Team members in the department.
- Disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Physical security systems.
- Responsible for Azure Active Directory, Domain design, implementation & administration.
- Working with Azure AD to ensure security (using Bitlocker, Intune and device management).
- Design, Build, Maintain and administer the office IT systems: Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Print Server Solutions and work with the Networking team to devise security policies.
- Design and implement IT infrastructure monitoring.
- Maintain the software licence register to ensure compliance between licences owned and used.
- Manage and control company laptops.
- Manage the internal cabling for corporate infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain company Intranet.
- Create & enforce security policies on all company hardware & software.
- Responsible for managing the Microsoft Licensing and ensuring Procurement are notified when the licenses are running out.
Skills, experience and qualifications (required):
- Experience working with AWS, Azure or similar cloud platforms.
- Demonstrable project delivery experience.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft, Linux and MacOS operating systems.
- Ability to work in ITIL v3 and Agile environments - using incident management tools and working within an ITIL based infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Demonstrable experience in virtualised environments (preferably VMWare Infrastructure) and SAN systems.
- Proven ability to build and maintain Server Hardware Platforms.
- Extensive knowledge & experience of High Availability Systems & Failover Testing.
- Experience with automating hardware and software deployments.
- Powershell, Bash & Python scripting.
Skills, experience and qualifications (preferred):
- ISP experience would be great, but not essential.
- Microsoft qualifications: MCSE & Azure Administrator Associate.
- Network qualifications such as CCNA or equivalent experience (Extensive knowledge and experience of DHCP, DNS, Wireless, Switching, Routing & Firewall policies.
- Strong experience with design, deployment & migration of Active Directory (Cloud & On-Premise).
- Strong experience working and maintaining relational databases (MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL, etc.)
