Experience managing subcontractors required.


Directly responsible for leading and overseeing multiple projects consisting of onsite supervision of crew leaders, lineman, apprentices, operators and/or helpers. This position serves and has the responsibility for providing coordination, planning, and supervision to assistant superintendents and contractors. Will work closely with members of the project management, infrastructure engineering, project controls and procurement departments. Accountable for the on-site management of assigned construction projects, trade contractors and field personnel, in such a way as to ensure scheduled completion of projects within established budget, time frame, quality and performance standards, and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure job site safety
  • Manage quality control and production
  • Enforce compliance with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules and client requirements. Document all violations, notify Construction Management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required. Provide accurate performance feedback for project team members.
  • Review working drawings including architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, electrical and landscaping plans with respect to details, buildability, alternative methods, conflicts, and dimensions.
  • Review the Building Specification to confirm material, subcontractor, and equipment criteria and identify potential project document conflict.
  • Maintain and manage the jobsite including trailer, signage, material staging, vehicle access, and temporary utility access. Oversee an orderly system for maintaining project plans, communication, correspondence and subcontracts.
  • Develop and foster effective client and subcontractor relationships.
  • Conduct periodic project inspections with attention focused on owner's concerns.
  • Monitor project labor productivity and keep the company informed of any deviations from the original budgets.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to implement Project Execution Plans, project procedures, working documents, site procedures and project standards.
  • Review project construction documents and identify required material quantities. Monitor actual project material quantity requirements and keep the company informed of any deviations from the original budgets.
  • Completely review, coordinate, and implement the quality assurance program developed for the project.
  • Review Subcontractor progress payments and Supplier invoices.
  • Read, interpret, and understand civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls and instrumentation drawings, specification and commercial documents.

Requirements

  • 11+ years' experience in T&D construction
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (college education a plus)
  • Driving record to meet company requirements
  • Good Interpersonal skills to motivate team in a positive, collaborative manner
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to travel
