Site Maintenance Engineer

Job description

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the following:

• Assessing defects, purchasing the spares required and carrying out the repairs where possible.
• Ensure contractors are used when required and arrangements are made in good time to ensure minimum down time of site equipment
• Ensure that priority at all times is anything that may affect the smooth running of the Nursery or growing operations

- Any potential Health & Safety Hazards
- Boilers
- Heating System
- Glasshouse Vents
- Spraying Equipment
- Nursery equipmet (e.g trimming trollies & spray equipment)
- Irrigation Systems & Equipment

• Ensure that nursery equipment is maintained to a high standard
• Glasshouse structures to be maintained to a high standard, regular visual inspections to be in place and repairs completed when necessary
• Repair and maintenance of site drains & reservoirs
• Maintenance and repair to the mobile homes and toilet blocks on the Nursery
• New installation of equipment and structures
• Monitor contractors when they are carrying out site maintenance work
• Develop and progress a planned maintenance (PM) system for the site
• Ensure only food safe lubricants are used in the crop
