Job description

The role has been determined Inside IR35 and offers the candidate a long-term contract on a diverse portfolio of works. In addition to this contract, upon completion, there could be further opportunities to work on to extend the contract. As the site manager you will join a high performing and excellent delivery focused team who has enjoyed good success in previous works. You will work closely with the engineering, on site and management teams to ensure the project is delivered on time and to a high standard and assist in ensuring the works are completed safely and on time and budget. As the site manager you will need to:

• Experienced in managing rail civils work sites and have a proven ability to drive construction safely and effectively.
• Experienced in managing packages ranging in value from £100k to £1m+
• Be able to manage the work site teams but also engage with other stakeholders including clients and management personnel.
• Manage a team of supervisors and ensure project milestones and quality levels are achieved.
• Maintain work site documentation and can input and create all work and safety documentation and report back to the engineering team.
• Assist in the planning of works and management/ordering of labour, plant and materials.

Essential

• A full drivers licence.
• Relevant successful construction experience in railway industry.
• Environmental awareness.
• Driver for behavioural change.
• Good communication skills
• Commercial awareness.
• Ability to manage a principal contractor and their subcontractors.

Desirable

• Membership of CITB Construction Skill Certification Scheme
• IOSH Certificate
• Safety management awareness/training.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt / Continuous Improvement.
