Job description
This is an opportunity for a Process Control Engineer to work with our client who own and operate the Fife Ethylene Plant where they manufacture ethylene 24/7.
The successful Process Control Engineer should be degree qualified, preferably in Chemical Engineering and must have experience of DCS base control including DCS programming within an operational environment, e.g. chemical manufacturing, petrochemical or refinery operations. You should also have experience with model predictive control (MPC), preferably dynamic matrix control (DMC).
The primary role and responsibilities of the Process Control Engineer will include but not be limited to:
- Provide process control engineering support to the chemical plant for safe and reliable operations.
- Develop and implement process control applications including DCS programming to improve the performance of the chemical manufacturing and production facilities.
- Develop engineering solutions using advanced automation tools to improve the effectiveness of process control applications.
- Sustain and enhance existing process control applications for value maximization.
- Support and lead engineering assessments, engineering design, process troubleshooting, applications performance analysis and applications risk assessments.
- Maintenance, modification and installation of instrument loops for base control applications and advance control applications.
- Initiate / support changes in technology or work practices to improve plant reliability, safety and profitability.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement to plant processes.
The rates advertised are Umbrella rates. Candidates can also work on a PAYE basis if preferred. Further information can be provided upon application.
