Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in delivery of the target cost and budget estimate works for Depot works.
- Assist in cost capture for supply chain & depot delivered works
- Assist in supplying client with Target Costs and Budget estimates, including reviewing TC/BE compiled by AQSs.
- Work with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to prepare clear and accurate quarterly forecasts for all Depot Works.
- Assist in management of early warning notices and CE quotations undertaken by QSs and Depot Managers/Supervisors.
- Submitting of Claims and applications to the client and ensuring payment is received
- Assist in agreement of final accounts for all Depot Works.
- Assist in risk & opportunity management
- Assist in monthly cost and value reconciliation & management;
- Assist in management of supply chain;
- Assist in management of direct reports, to include annual performance review
- Site visits & pricing of Depot Works.
- Ensure compliance with client standards and procedures in respect of commercial activities;
- Ad hoc commercial duties as job requires.
Skills & Experience
- Degree or equivalent level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related construction subject;
- Preferably qualified or working to an CICES or RICS accreditation;
- Relevant CSCS Card; Desirable.
- Strong level of identifiable commercial experience within the construction industry
- Good command and communication of oral and written English
- Skilled negotiator and communicator
- Good people/management/organisational skills.
- Demonstrable highway maintenance and civil engineering experience preferably with a contracting organisation.
- Good knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts
- IT proficient, particularly in MS Office
This role is inside of IR35, and therefore will have to be under a PAYE/Umbrella PAYE model.
