Job description
Our client have recently been awarded a 10-year contract to provide a broad range of highway services to Suffolk County Council covering design, construction and maintenance. As a result, they are looking to recruit a Planner / Programmer to support mobilisation activities.
Reporting to the Programming and Performance Manager, you will be working as part of a small team developing and overseeing the programming of a wide range of highway improvement projects as well as monitoring progress on mobilisation activities.
As the Planner / Programmer your duties and responsibilities will be:
- To work with clients, Mobilisation Manager, project managers, project leads and key partners to develop a robust and deliverable Annual Plan and Mobilisation Programme
- To support the development of a service-wide integrated design and construction programme
- To monitor progress against key programme commitments
- To engage effectively with colleagues to record change and update these accordingly on the integrated programme
- To provide data to others to facilitate resource, risk and performance management
- To support the upskilling of colleagues and development of a 'programme led' culture
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Experience of developing and maintaining programmes including use of specialist software such as Microsoft Project, Asta Power Project or Primavera.
- Proven organisational skills including planning and programming
- Ability to engage liaise and communicate effectively across a diverse range of project stakeholders
- Proven ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Experience in the development and delivery of highway-based projects (DESIRABLE)
- Driving Licence
This role is inside of IR35.
