Job description

You will be a qualified Electrician with proven knowledge in the Industrial /Commercial industry.

You will need to be a self-motivated individual who is able to deliver to a high standard. Based out of our client's Southampton site, you will travel to customer sites to carry out planned & reactive maintenance and installation works. The role will require you to work away from home at times.

You will be involved in the electrical installation, maintenance, and planned & reactive maintenance.

You must have a sound knowledge of fundamental electrical installation working practices in Industrial /Commercial environment and be capable of working to a consistent high standard, working well within mixed trade teams.

Main responsibilities include;

• Electrical maintenance, repair, and installation activities at customer sites
• Ensure all safety and performance standards are met
• Liaise with customers and complete required documentation
• Installing cabling containment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings
• Installation of electrical equipment of varying sizes with other trades.
• Fault finding on electrical circuits and equipment as required.
• Carry out electrical testing.
• Follow safe systems of work required by our and customer SHEQ processes
• Must be willing to obtain security clearance, currently at SC level.

Required skills/qualifications:

• Industry approved apprenticeship
• Have good decision making and communications skills
• Strong practical problem-solving skills
• Able to work under pressure and within a team
• An eye for detail
• Good all round electrical knowledge
• Full UK Driving license

Desirable skills/qualifications:

• Formal electrical engineering qualifications (C&G 2357, C&G 5357 or similar)
• JIB grade approved electrician 18th edition
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma installing electrotechnical systems and equipment
• IPAF / PASMA trained
• CSCS Card
• Knowledge of safe systems of work & permit to work system card
• Mechanical knowledge.

Package:

• £18-£20/h (£37,440 - £41,600)
• Overtime (x1½ Mon to Saturday / x2 Sundays and bank holidays)

Hours of Work:

Core working hours are 08:00-16:30 Monday to Friday. (40 hours per week)
