Job description
The Role
As a Principal Engineer - Site Mechanical Crane Specialist, you will set site engineering standards and requirements for lifting equipment/systems in accordance with legislation/processes across projects and maintenance by providing technical advice/support.
Responsibilities:
- Defining and delivering activities and documentation in accordance with the requirements, legislation and processes.

Responsible for reviewing proposals to ensure that the equipment/facilities are designed, constructed, commissioned, operated and maintained in accordance with the appropriate processes and standards.

Provide advice and guidance with respect to the design in relation to the mechanical lifting systems in the context of site facilities, including the application of design standards.

Point of contact as SME for issues regarding standards for site mechanical lifting systems (e.g. cranes).

Ability to chair and lead improvements (policy, equipment, capabilities) with site LOLER risk cell set up to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

A degree in mechanical engineering.

Experience in a cranes standards, other lifting equipment and LOLER.

Experience within a Nuclear Environment to relevant ONR License Conditions or similar highly regulated business (Desirable).
SC + ITAR
This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. In addition, this role involves direct and/or indirect access to ITAR Material which means there are restrictions on dual nationals. Therefore you must hold a British Nationality to apply for this role. If you are unsure as to whether you are eligible, please contact me to discuss.
The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs).
