Job description

Following the recent award of a new major programme of work on a flagship infrastructure project, a leading international main contracting organisation is seeking to employ a proven mid-level P6 Planning Engineer.

If you have experience of working on major infrastructure construction projects, would enjoy working with an inspirational, supportive and energetic Project Director for a company who employ 50,000 world wide then this is a great opportunity for you!

As Planning Engineer, you will take responsibility for delivering specific tasks, goals, and objectives. You will be expected to work proactively and deliver defined tasks to business and industry standard. You will manage your own tasks within the context of a project and the company objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the project baseline programme on Primavera P6 including but not limited to: WBS, CBS, Cost, Material, Resource loading according to the planned budget, milestone definitions, P6 Settings and codes, Project Calendars.
  • Preparing monthly programme updates with narratives and project performance reports including but not limited to earned value assessment, SPI schedules and change logs,
  • Assessing the optimal material and manpower requirements based on the monthly programme updates/forecasts to ensure alignment with the project budgets.

To be considered for the role candidates will have:

  • Strong knowledge of Primavera P6
  • A good understanding of project management with the ability to read and interpret spreadsheets
  • Experience of working on large infrastructure construction projects
  • Experience of working on projects with large M&E system elements such as lifts & escalators etc would be advantageous but not essential.

In return you will be offered a salary of up to £65,000 (dependent on experience) accompanied with 25 days holiday, pension and other attractive benefits.
