Job description

Our construction client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Sunderland team working on their Northern Power Grid framework.

They are seeking a dynamic, strategic and charismatic person, who will be an integral part of their commercial team. The role will primarily be office-based role with occasional site visits.

Strong analysis skills, with demonstrable experience of making sound decisions, that have been informed by experience and data intelligence along with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Management of subcontractors and accounts
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager and management of the commercial team
  • Management of client disputes and internal auditing
  • Maintaining the commercial risk register
  • Overseeing weekly valuations and confirming accuracy of measurements
  • Cost analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Contract review and rates analysis
  • Production of CVR's for all projects

Skills/experience/qualifications

  • Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a high level of commercial awareness and understanding, with the ability to analyse problems and offer solutions
  • Or if you are a Quantity Surveyor with considerable experience of managing people and looking to make your move into a Senior Quantity Surveyor role.
  • Inspiring, influential, and charismatic communication skills with experience in effectively landing key messages, and problem-solving skills are a given, as is having exceptional Excel skills.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or significant experience in similar position is essential.
