Job description
This role will have overall accountability managing, enabling and monitoring the timely delivery of the integrated design (PW and TW) and design consenting programmes in line with the construction and overall project programme and consideration of quantities and cost implications.
This position will have overall technical accountability to the Construction Director for the design/technical delivery within the section, in particular on the overall coordination of all designs involving multiple design disciplines, its buildability, ensuring the coordination and integration of the PW with the Key TW designs.
The Technical Lead/Senior Design Manager will establish collaborative working environment within the C23 IPT, to deliver the best project outcomes and liaise closely with the Design Discipline leads and other Technical Function Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure the delivery of designs with a consistent approach across the project, and in compliance with the relevant Management Plans.
This position will ensure that Designers' requirements for reliance information in the Section are timely articulated and then actioned by the relevant personnel. The role will also guide and oversee the design activities from ASC and TW designers related to the Section, in coordination with the Design Delivery Director to ensure a consistent approach across the project.
This role will support the Design Delivery Director with the commercial management of designers, liaising with the Commercial team as required. Supports as well with the design risk management, ensuring that key risks are articulated and communicated to the risk team for quantification and proper commercial management.
The Technical Lead/Senior Design Manager will be responsible for reviewing and reporting design delivery performance in the section through (to include cost, programme, contract, scope, progress, change, compliance, governance etc.), in liaison and with support from the project controls and commercial teams. The role will also ensure compliance with the CDM 2015 Regulations.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Chartered Civil Engineer
- Design Management in large scale projects, leading and overseeing design delivery for permanent works, temporary works, utilities, and engineering processes, including as well overall consents of the works
- Focus on the timely and integrated delivery of design and design-related consents
- Management of commercial aspects of design contracts with a focus on overall performance
- Strong communication skills at multiple organisational levels, internally and externally
