Role Description |
As a Human Factors Specialist supporting, you will report to the Lead HFI Specialist and assist them in delivering User-Centred Design activities. This could include: assessing Commercial-Off-The-Shelf equipment against system requirements / user needs; engaging with users to understand their goals and tasks; conducting detailed analyses to understand cognitive workload and human error; anthropometric assessment and workspace/workstation design; working with other engineering functions and disciplines to support their tasks. |
Key activities |
· Support Vigilant lead HFI specialist in the conduct of human factors activities and integration of HF into the TRINITY design · Work with end user groups and HF stakeholders in workshops, trials and User-Centred Design activities · Conduct analyses such as persona development, task analysis and usability assessment · Assess prototypes/mock-ups of TRINITY hardware and software solutions · Produce reports and input to customer deliverables. |
Skills required |
As a minimum, this role requires you to have: · A recognised degree or equivalent qualification in Human Factors, Ergonomics or Psychology · Registered membership of the Chartered Institute of Human Factors (or eligibility for CIEHF Chartership via an equivalent body) · At least five years' experience of applying Human Factors methods in defence or safety-critical industry · Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team on complex system integration and development projects |
