Job description

Electrical AutoCAD Design Engineer
Sheffield
Hybrid - 2 days per week

Job Purpose

To ensure that all design files relating to the electrical aspects of a project are fit for purpose, accurate and in accordance with corporate requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision and monitoring of AutoCAD resource and workload, reporting progress to department manager
• Reviewing own and others work to ensure compliant design
• Responsible for producing bespoke design or a combination of third-party equipment integrated within a bespoke design:
• Cable Block Diagrams
• Schematics
• General arrangement of Control Panel Layouts
• Cable schedules
• Bill of materials

• Using the advanced features within the AutoCAD Electrical package produce: such as symbol builder
• Title block- updates
• Symbol builder
• Terminal block editor
• Production of cable schedule reports

• Development of standard templates for circuit design
• Update and maintain of AutoCAD Electrical catalogue libraries
• Creation of client specific drawing boarder templates and associated attributes
• Provide support to third party partners / manufacturers as required
• Flexibility to carry out other reasonable duties as required.

Technical Competencies & Experience

• Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical
• Knowledge of Electrical Wiring Regulations
• Hold current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
• Conversant with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
