Job description
The role
Working in the Electrical Designer discipline this role consists of 3D modelling (design and integration) of various electrical systems and compartment integration of electrical equipment. The role also includes construction of a Bill of Materials (BoM) for your area of design in the submarine and as a Designer, you will report to a Project Leader where you will be working in a team of other Designers at various levels of experience and knowledge.
- Using the CAD toolset to produce 3D models of electrical routed systems and electrical equipment integration e.g. switchboards and power units etc.
- Mature and develop 2D electrical schematics / system diagrams
- Producing outputs (including 2D drawings and electronic data) to a demanding schedule to support manufacturing, installation and testing of our products
- Working as a team to produce an integrated design that meets the customer's expectations and agreed set of requirements.
Key Skills required
- Relevant apprenticeship, engineering qualification or previous experience as an Electrical Designer / Draughtsperson e.g. HNC, ONC or degree qualification in relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical routed systems at both 2D and 3D level
- Technical Drawings skills and experience e.g. setting out form and content of drawing sets such as manufacture and installation details
- Experience and knowledge of PLM toolsets such as Teamcenter, Database Manager and Windchill etc.
The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
This role will require you to hold or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC). You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period.
