NEC Project Manager
Start: ASAP
Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh Office (Hybrid working)
Scheme: A9 corridor between Perth and Inverness
Duration: 6 month rolling contract
Rate: Up to £75 an hour - Inside IR35


Description

We have a number of projects either at the procurement or construction stages which are to be procured under the NEC form of Contract. Opportunities exist within Transportation Project Services for senior and supporting roles to fulfil the role of NEC Project Manager including management of all Contract processes, such as design acceptance, programme acceptance, management of early warnings and compensation events and payments.
The NEC Project Manager is responsible for Impartial contract Administration.

In addition candidates should have experience of:

  • Generating a collaborative culture and engaging a team.
    ·Advising clients on the procurement and operation of Contracts
    ·Assisting in tendering processes under relevant regulations
    ·Developing Scope and other Contract documentation in collaboration with Design teams
    ·Administering the contract as a manager and an agent of the Employer - Inc: Understanding the Works Information (NEC3) / Scope (NEC4).

    ·Giving instructions to vary the works and implementing compensation events
    ·Responding to issues within the deadlines dictated by NEC
    ·Setting up the Contract Data and understanding the Scope
    ·Auditing the Contractor's accounts and records on the Target Cost Contracts
    ·Approving the Contractor's submitted Programme - Inc: Assessment of the programme (understanding float, time risk allowances concurrency, logic links, Key Dates, programming software) and making decisions.

    ·Giving early warning of any risks or delays
    ·Making assessments of compensation events - both the time and cost.
    ·Advising other teams on the application and operation of NEC Contracts
    ·Lead project teams in supporting functions, including the Supervisor and their team who will oversee the compliance of the works with the Contract, cost controllers where 'open book' audit is required, and planners for the analysis of Contractor programmes.


  • Here's What You'll Need:
    ·Degree in engineering, construction or another built environment subject
    ·Chartered or Incorporated status with a relevant professional institution
    ·Accredited NEC Project Manager or Supervisor (NECReg)
    ·Ability to manage change and uncertainty while maintaining positive relationships with Clients, Contractors and internal teams.
    ·Ability to balance time, quality and cost to meet Client expectations
    ·Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large (at least £20 million construction value or equivalent) and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment.
    ·Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation.
    ·Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools.
    ·Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
    ·Able to travel for work on a regular basis
