Job description
This role is about strategy and policy setting and managing the highway asset as well as the statutory functions within the department..
Multimillion pound contracts will not be the main focus of this role. In fact, it is likely that there won't be any focus on delivery of projects. A small unitary authority has different needs to Highways England and County Councils.
We need a chartered civil engineer who has experience of managing a range of multi-disciplined professional people in the execution of the highway functions listed below:
Asset management
Traffic management and safety
Sustainable transport and public transport
Development control
Travel plans and transport planning
Maintenance
Structures
Flooding
Rights of way
Parking strategy
Working hours:
- 37-40 hours a week
- Monday to Friday
- Weekly Pay
