Job description
Our Water sector client is a specialist in chemical dosing & fluid handling systems, products and services for the Water and other industries, is seeking a talented and experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding Projects Division based out of Basingstoke.
Our client are part of a wider Engineering group of businesses and offer an exciting environment where you can truly make a difference and contribute to ambitious growth plans. The role will report into a Project Director and the candidate will support project teams.
Responsibilities
- Mastermind project budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and adherence to financial targets.
- Conduct life-cycle cost analyses, optimizing project costs throughout their lifecycle.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and review existing budgets, identifying and mitigating potential overruns.
- Craft financial documents with precision and clarity.
- Submit, and negotiate variation/compensation events, securing best value for the company.
- Sharpen your negotiation skills to secure favourable contract terms and resolve disputes effectively.
- Identify and manage commercial risks, safeguarding project profitability.
- Accurately complete CVR's and arrange timely payments with invoices prepared to perfection.
- Prepare contracts and technical documents with confidence.
- Manage contracts diligently, ensuring compliance with terms and regulations.
- Develop tender pricing documents that win business.
- Oversee procurement processes and manage client valuations.
- Conduct thorough compliance analyses, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Skills/experience/qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Proven experience in cost control, budgeting, and financial management.
- Experience in variation/compensation event management, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant project management software
- Ideally 5-10 years experience in engineering/construction - water sector preferable
