Job description

Role Purpose:

  • The Change Commercial Manager is a specific role within BBV to manage BBV's contractual entitlements through the contract mechanism.


  • · Negotiate change (time and money) entitlements under the contract.

    · Proactive identification and raising change notices as required and conversion to compensation events, where applicable.

    · Have a good working knowledge to work closely with BBV planners, to establish via recognised delay analysis techniques, entitlement to the adjustment of planned Key Dates and Completion Date together with associated actual/forecasted Defined Costs.

    · Preparing quotations (entitlement to adjustments to Key Dates and Completion Date and ascertainment of change to Prices, time analysis, risk analysis entitlement submissions for compensation events, proposed compensation events and orders of magnitude for potential changes as directed/required.)

    · Manage a small team and interact as necessary with the relevant teams in enabling functions and other sublots to ensure consistency and enhance the BBV commercial position to notify compensation events, submit quotations and time analysis on time.

    · Must be able to work independently to advise, prepare and write detailed compensation event / claim documentation demonstrating entitlement under the contract.

    · Support the Commercial Lead as required, with other change related matters.

    Help to negotiate and resolve compensation events and disputes, including the preparation of further escalation papers when necessary

The following qualifications or equivalent are essential:

* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent

* Membership of RICS, CICES or CIOB

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

* Fully conversant with the change process required under NEC3/4

* Compensation Events & Quotations to be submitted under NEC3/4
