The team are seeking an experienced individual to provide Troposcatter Engineering expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Troposcatter engineering expertise
- To review and improve:
- System architecture and detail design
- RF system design
- Troposcatter modem operation and configuration
- Troposcatter pointing algorithm
- Filter operation and configuration
- Test strategy and procedures
- Fault finding
- Test site selection
- Troposcatter system analysis and modelling
- Software user interface
- Carry out factory and in the field Troposcatter sub assembly and system testing
- Able to support on site test support in the UK, Canada and US
- Participate in Programme & Project delivery.
- Analyse customer requirements, concepts of operations and high level system architecture to develop system requirements specifications
- Provide System Test documentation to support product verification
- Participate in and facilitate design reviews (e.g. PDR, CDR, TRR)
- Supporting Marketing activities such as demo and trials, presenting concepts to both internal and external audiences as required.
- Participate in bid pricing.
- Manage security of information as defined in the Security man
Experience needed:
- Ideally qualified to degree-level or equivalent experience in a Physics or Engineering based subject, such as; Electronics, Hardware, Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering etc.
- Proven experience in Troposcatter RF communication systems engineering and design
- Deep technical knowledge of all aspects of a Troposcatter system
- Antenna
- Modems
- Amplifiers
- Filters
- RF system including feeds and waveguide
- Experience of working with Government customers
- Cross disciplinary knowledge; Mechanical, Analogue, Digital, RF Electronics and Software
- Good understanding of data Interfaces
- Sound Configuration Management skills
- Self-starter also able to work as part of a team and quickly add value to the ongoing development project
Desirable:
- Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous
