Our client, a leading company in the water sector, is seeking a talented CAD Technician to join their team in Walsall. As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in the development, management, and production of design across various disciplines. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities

• Use a variety of CAD software programs to create designs in 2D and 3D, including Autodesk and Solidworks
• Collaborate with project, engineering, and operation teams to identify and reduce design-related risks
• Generate high-quality technical drawings, plans, and general arrangements
• Produce Bill of Materials (BOMs) to facilitate material purchasing
• Create and manage 3D models
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutions according to client specifications
• Utilize site survey data to aid design development
• Conduct site visits and surveys to gather information for design progression
• Organize the final production of as-built models and drawings

Job Requirements

• Well-organized with proficiency in design software such as Solidworks and Autodesk
• Knowledge of engineering principles and ability to create and interpret technical drawings
• Flexible approach to decision-making, capable of making changes to drawings quickly
• Experience in the water industry's mechanical and electrical requirements is desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
