Job description


Our client, a leading automotive company, is currently seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer on a contract basis to join their team. As a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer, you will be responsible for performing a range of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulations of combustion engines and transmissions. This is a contract role, offering an attractive hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out FE-based analyses of engine components to predict structural performance and durability
  • Conduct thermal analyses and optimization of powertrains, including combustion engines
  • Perform structural analyses of transmission assemblies and components
  • Work on engineering activities for ICE and transmission component analysis and optimization from prototype through to full series production
  • Collaborate closely with design and development teams to assess functionality and performance of systems
  • Produce technical reports, interpret results, and provide suggestions for improvements
  • Adhere to internal and client quality procedures and validation processes
  • Support the development of future products and services, contributing to the development of new techniques

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in mechanical, automotive, or aerospace engineering (or similar)
  • Strong experience in simulation and/or testing roles in the automotive, mechanical, or aerospace industry
  • Sound knowledge of ICE and transmission technology
  • Proficiency in FE codes such as Realis FEARCE, Abaqus, or Optistruct
  • Experience using office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in FE analysis
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver project deliverables on time
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver technical presentations to internal teams and clients
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
