Job description
As an Aircraft Fitter you will be responsible for Maintenance, Repairs and Modifications to the aircraft. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the maintenance of the aircraft and safe use of ground equipment
- Can accurately navigate and interpret aircraft maintenance documentation.
- Carry out aircraft modifications and light structural work if required.
- Compliance with the organisational policies and procedures detailed in the company's MOE and supporting manuals
- Identifying and rectifying existing and potential unsafe conditions
- Maintaining the work environment in a clean and safe manner using a "clean as you go" approach
- Complying with company Safety Management System (SMS) occurrence reporting procedures
- Complying with the AAG DS safety policy
- Complete aircraft paperwork to a high standard
- An awareness of COSHH, Working at height and Manual handling safety requirements
- Actively embrace a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture
Candidate Requirements
- Must currently have eligibility to live and work in the UK, unfortunately sponsorship cannot currently be offered.
- Must hold a valid aircraft standards-based qualification (Apprenticeship/NVQ level 3) or aircraft related academic qualification/traineeship with a minimum 3 years recorded experience or be able to satisfy the Training / Maintenance management team.
- Current Human factor initial and refresher, EWIS and SFAR 88 certificate
- Knowledge of aeronautical regulations
- Must have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Be able to successful complete MOD security clearance
Desirable Criteria
- Experience on A400M, Airbus, Propeller or Wide body Aircraft
- Previous exposure to AirN@v and Amos
- Knowledge of Military Aviation Authority (MAA) MRP Part 145 regulations
- Have good communication skills, both verbally and written, and interpersonal skills
- A proven ability to work as part of a team
- Be able to work on their own initiative and demonstrate leadership skills
- Possess proficient organisational skills and an ability to work in an efficient manner
- IPAF/MEWP familiarisation
Typical Working Conditions
- Primarily based in Brize Norton however travel may be required
- Shift will be 5,5,4-day shift 0700-1900
