Job description

Our client, a leading engineering consulting company, is currently seeking a Project Manager with expertise in IT/Comms Systems for a contract role at Heathrow Airport. As part of the Project Delivery Practice, you will be responsible for delivering large-scale IT/Comms Systems related projects, ensuring design delivery within time and budget constraints. This is a full-time position, with a minimum requirement of on-site work at the airport for 4 days per week.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will demonstrate strong project leadership, ensuring successful project bidding and delivery across the project lifecycle. You will work collaboratively with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders, resolving challenges proactively. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding team and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.
This role falls under IR35 regulations and candidates should be submitted at market rate.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing project leadership on large value IT related projects
• Working constructively and collaboratively with clients to protect and meet commercial objectives
• Ensuring projects meet business revenue, profit, and cash-flow expectations
• Leading bid preparation and work winning process
• Coordinating with practice managers to plan and resource bids and projects
• Developing and maintaining client relationships
• Achieving personal productivity targets
• Ensuring compliance with business management, HSE, and quality procedures
• Maintaining knowledge of current design and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering Discipline (degree or HNC preferable)
• Chartered status or working towards desirable

Experience and Skills

• Significant project management experience within large value multidisciplinary projects
• Experience of working with Heathrow, their Contractors, and third parties would be advantageous
• Experience of managing a project portfolio
• Good understanding of Design procedures, change control, and checking and review requirements
• Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams
• APMP or PRINCE2 certification is preferred
• Ideally some form of H&S qualification in CDM or APS, IOSHH
• Required CSCS or equivalent
