Our client, a large aerospace and defence supplier, is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to develop network solutions with high functional and formal integrity. Working in a small team of software engineers and a wider multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for developing solutions for challenging applications with high performance and integrity expectations. This is a 12-month contract position based mostly onsite in Southampton.

As a Principal Software Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

• Specification, design, and implementation of routing protocols.
• Our client, a large aerospace and defence supplier, is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to develop network solutions with high functional and formal integrity.
• Development of new algorithms and associated performance and evaluation assets.
• Software development using C++ (11 or later).
• Development for deployment with Linux.
• Communication framework.

Additional requirements for this role:

• Significant experience in Embedded C/C++ and Linux.
• Understanding of OOD (Object-Oriented Design).
• Experience with routing protocols and RTCA DO-189C.
• Active DV Clearance is required due to the nature of the work.
