Job description


Our client, a leading Defence & Security company, is seeking a Product Environmental Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Airworthiness and System Safety to ensure that our client's products meet all statutory and contractual environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and continuously improve the process and procedures for product environmental management.
  • Support project Safety and Environmental Managers in implementing environmental management processes and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice on product environmental issues to bids and projects.
  • Ensure purchased materials comply with relevant product environmental requirements.
  • Manage compliance at the company level against statutory product environmental requirements.
  • Develop and implement a plan to meet the Ministry of Defence's targets for Net Zero and sustainability.
  • Liaise and collaborate with the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment team to ensure alignment between product and organizational environmental management activities.
  • Raise awareness of product environmental issues across the business.
  • Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of product environmental management, including application and technology relevant to Defence.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of the principles of sustainable procurement and their application in a high technology business with a diverse and complex product portfolio.
  • Safety Engineering, Health & Safety Engineering (CORE) qualifications.
