Introduction:

Our client, a local authority in the HTP sector, is currently seeking a Highways Engineer to join their Planned Maintenance Team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the delivery of carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes
• Prepare and review highways designs and plans
• Coordinate and liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and other departments
• Conduct site inspections and assessments
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and external parties
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
• Prepare and submit reports, budgets, and documentation

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in Highways Engineering, particularly in carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes
• Strong knowledge of highways design standards and specifications
• Proficiency in using relevant software and tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Self-motivated and proactive approach to work
• Full UK driving license
• In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations
