Introduction


Our client, a leading insurance company based in London, is seeking a talented Senior Data Warehouse Engineer to join their dynamic Data Management team. As a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of data systems, including data warehouses, dashboards, and reports. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an organisation at a formative period in its development, with ample scope for personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications
  • Create ETLs for onboarding new portfolios
  • Develop and maintain SQL Server and Oracle data warehouses
  • Design and maintain data models for the data warehouse
  • Assist with solution design and system test plan preparation
  • Build and deploy BI solutions and analytical tools
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
  • Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
  • Develop and update technical documentation
  • Improve processes within the organisation and automate manual tasks
  • Conduct peer review of team members' code
  • Support and maintain existing IT services

Job Requirements

  • Significant experience with SQL Server data warehouse tools
  • Experience with Oracle databases, including Oracle Cloud and Apex
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack and data warehousing concepts
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based IT services, particularly the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and Power Platform
  • Experience with person-to-person workflow technologies
  • Exposure to Microsoft Windows and web services (IIS and Tomcat), CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), and generating XML files
  • Understanding of database design techniques, optimisation, ETL best practices, and dimensional modeling
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
