Introduction

Our client, an esteemed public sector organization, is currently seeking an Area Surveyor to join their team. As an Area Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing responsive works within a defined area of Oxford. Your expertise in building surveying will ensure that all repairs and maintenance-related issues are effectively managed to maintain the high standards set by the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Commissioning and monitoring responsive works to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
• Handling contractor escalations, approving works, and addressing any issues that may arise.
• Liaising with various internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and facilitate repairs and maintenance activities.
• Identifying and addressing trends, generating reports, and managing complaints and disrepair claims.
• Utilizing your technical expertise to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all repair and maintenance-related matters within your defined area.

Job Requirements

• Significant experience in a similar role, ideally within a busy and dynamic environment.
• Strong knowledge and expertise in building surveying.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven track record in managing repair and maintenance issues, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Proficient in IT systems, with the ability to interpret and analyze data.
• Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Detail-oriented approach, coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
