Job description

Role Summary:

Working as part of the Procurement team to source goods and services required by the business in accordance with company procedures, on time and to the required quality and cost requirements.

This position is a contract and paying £13-£15 per hr PAYE and £17.54 - £20.24 per hr UMB. The role is full time on site, 8:00am-16:30pm Monday-Thursday and 8:00am-13:00pm on Friday.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • EHS - Promote a safe workplace environment without risk to health and minimising the impact to the environment. Ensure that all Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and that all accidents and incidents are reported
  • Housekeeping - Ensure that workstations are kept clean and tidy. Uphold a clear desk policy
  • Quality - Ensure that all Quality standards, processes and procedures are complied with. All work is completed with care and attention minimising wastage.
  • Cost Management - Support cost reduction and management initiatives through reducing unnecessary expenditure.
  • Knowledge & Skills - Keep knowledge and training up to date for necessary processes to the best of your knowledge and belief to achieve specification and acceptable standards for your role.
  • Team Working - Must actively participate in team meetings and be prepared to share knowledge, coach and mentor trainees when required, be willing to be trained in other areas.
  • Any other reasonable duties that fall in line with the level of the role.

Role Specific:

Will include but is not limited to:

  • Assist in the unloading and loading of delivery lorries of chemicals and related products,
  • Moving of chemicals around site with use of sack trucks and forklifts.
  • Booking in of chemicals (GROSS / GRIS) and labelling before storing or delivery of product within the business
  • Monitoring chemical cabinets ensuring correct product is stored in an appropriate manner
  • Assisting with daily stock and out of date inspections
  • Disposing of out of life chemicals iaw correct procedures
  • Assist with the day to day progressing of purchase orders through the company's procurement systems,
  • Proactively escalate issues that will cause a late to MRP delivery or other concerns during regular Procurement meetings or as otherwise appropriate.
  • Liaise other internal departments to drive through any quality, delivery, cost or planning requirements to meet the business production requirements.

Essential:

  • Transferable current fork lift license
  • Experience working with MS Excel spreadsheets and Outlook
  • Time management, scheduling and prioritisation skills
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable & motivated team player with excellent communication & organisational skills. Able to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to professionally manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines & under minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates ability to work with accurate detail
  • Time management, scheduling and prioritisation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Experience in working with financial / ERP / MRP systems

Security Clearance

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
