Job description

The role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our Dispatch, Goods In, and Stores departments. Aiming for precision and meticulousness, you'll be instrumental in swiftly and efficiently processing orders right up to delivery on-site. Collaboration with other departments is crucial to meet and exceed customer delivery expectations. Your responsibilities include supervising the movement of goods, guaranteeing secure packaging to uphold company standards, and overseeing loading onto vehicles with utmost care to ensure top-notch quality for our clients. Additionally, meticulous record-keeping of incoming deliveries is essential for easy identification and retrieval.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain precise communication with all relevant departments to address any factors affecting delivery and quality for our clients.
  • Identify, evaluate, and propose effective solutions for quality issues, escalating as needed.
  • Ensure all goods received, both internally and externally, are thoroughly checked before booking into the system, preventing issuance to production or Dispatch without goods-in inspection.
  • Coordinate directly with suppliers or supply chain managers in case of undelivered orders, escalating to Operations/Procurement if delays impact Pick/Dispatch timelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in Stores, Yard, and Dispatch areas, ensuring clear product labelling and preventing overnight exposure to the elements unless approved by management.
  • Uphold proper stock control by promptly addressing any stock inconsistencies, escalating to inventory control when necessary, and ensuring secure and clearly labelled stock locations.
  • Operate counterbalance and reach trucks when required.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely picking of all Production orders and ancillary items for Dispatch, ideally 24 hours in advance.
  • Ensure proper wrapping, identification, and protection of inspected items to prevent damage or loss during transportation.
  • Fulfil all general Dispatch duties, including packing, movement, holding, and loading of goods onto vehicles.
  • Maintain an updated database with all relevant information and ensure successful booking out of goods in a timely manner.
  • Assist in handling client return requests, booking in stock, and storing items for inspection.
  • Support the management team in coordinating and managing day-to-day warehouse activities.
  • Log all courier-related damage and complaints to the Logistics department.
  • Contribute to ongoing training and development initiatives.
  • Uphold the company's Health and Safety policies, ensuring all staff adhere to good health and safety practices and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Accommodate flexibility with overtime when necessary to support departmental needs.

Experience Required:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Background in warehouse/stock control and administration.
  • Forklift licenses for both Counter Balance and Reach trucks
  • Experience in a customer-focused environment.

This is a permanent position with a salary of up to £25,000 per annum, depending on suitability.
