Job Title: Aerospace Welder
Location: Hamble, Southampton
Salary: £29,758.43 - £36,837.50 per annum (DOE)
Shift: Early Shift (Monday to Thursday: 6:00 AM - 2:15 PM, Friday: 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
Contract Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities
As an Aerospace Welder, you will:
- Perform manual TIG welding on various metallic components, including light-gauge aluminium alloys, to aerospace standards.
- Set up and operate automatic seam welding equipment and validate post-weld results.
- Execute manual brazing and OA welding techniques on aluminium alloys.
- Interpret and evaluate engineering documents, specifications, and drawings accessed via PC.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
- Maintain Approved Operator (AO) stamps and uphold quality standards.
- Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to problem-solve and improve processes.
- Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support training and process enhancements.
What We're Looking For
To excel in this role, you should have:
- An NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in engineering, ideally a Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering.
- Expertise in TIG welding and brazing techniques, particularly with aluminium alloys.
- Experience in training or mentoring others in welding processes.
- A working understanding of the NADCAP accreditation process.
- Certification equivalent to CAA's BCAR A8-10 or similar.
- The ability to process and evaluate components to customer drawings and specifications.
Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained throughout employment. If BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, your offer of employment may be withdrawn on national security grounds.
