Our client, a leading company in the defence and marine industry, is seeking a Principal Engineer with expertise in Supportability and Site, Facilities and Infrwstructure Obsolesence Management for a contract role.

Job description

As a Principal Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing a Site, Facilities, and Infrastructure Obsolescence Management strategy for the company's Barrow site, covering various systems, plant, and equipment. You will also be responsible for creating an Obsolescence Management process and supporting documentation for use in Maintenance Review, Risk Management, and Through-Life Management Planning activities.

To succeed in this role, you should have experience in Supportability, obsolescence management, and maintenance/support engineering. Strong communication and engagement skills are required, along with the ability to develop processes and deliver training. A Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject or an HND with relevant experience is preferred. Experience with SAP and knowledge of critical spares and ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) would be advantageous.

Our client is looking for individuals who have worked in highly regulated industries such as defence, marine, and air, as well as rail, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, and oil and gas. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of RAMS principles and an in-depth knowledge of obsolescence management.

Joining the Asset Information and Reliability Team within a department of around 130 people, you will directly report to the Senior Engineering Manager.
