Job description
Our client, a leader in network communications, is currently recruiting for experienced Communications Cabling Engineers to work on a contract basis at Heathrow Airport, London. This role supports the delivery of structured cabling and installation of communications assets in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fibre)
- Installing containment systems including trunking, tray, basket, and conduit
- Installing CCTV, VSS, Access Control, and Intruder detection systems
- Conducting testing and certification using Fluke (DSX or similar)
- Maintaining clear documentation of all installations and testing
- Collaborating with site supervisors, project managers, and client teams
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in structured cabling within commercial or highly regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of copper and fibre cabling standards and installation practices
- ECS or CSCS card required
- Eligible to undergo full airside security vetting
- Experience in CCTV, PAVA, Access Control, and Intruder detection systems
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in airports or similarly highly regulated environments
- Valid IPAF, PASMA, or confined space certifications
- City & Guilds or BTEC in Telecommunications/Data Cabling/Electrical Installation
