Job description
Our client, a prominent entity in the marine engineering sector, is seeking a Principal Marine Engineer - Production Engineering Lead to join their team. This permanent role is pivotal in defining, developing, and leading the technical capabilities within the Production Engineering domain, focusing primarily on structures to meet current and future customer needs. The successful candidate will be paramount in overseeing the delivery of work, management, and strategic development of the Production Engineering capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the professional lead for the Production Engineering Capability within the Commercial Shipping capability area.
- Manage and deliver technical projects and winning bids, interfacing with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across the Marine Engineering Capability.
- Support the Commercial Shipping Capability Lead and Head of Capability - Marine Engineering.
- Identify capability requirements and develop strategies for skills development within the capability.
- Perform thought leadership activities and support business development initiatives.
- Ensure effective utilisation of resources, including recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
- Manage technical quality within the capability.
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in structural design and marine engineering.
- Proven background in a senior or leadership role within production engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of commercial shipping and marine engineering capabilities.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
