Start Date: ASAP
End date: 6 months initially
Hybrid working, however, minimum 2 days are required in the office
Charge Rate per hour: £42.50 phr to £50 phr (Umbrella PAYE) dependent on experience and skills Plus expenses where required.
A major Engineering Consultancy is looking for an experienced, Senior or Principal Communications Engineer looking to develop their career in a positive environment and join a talented team where talent is encouraged and growth opportunities unrivalled. This role will be based in the Midlands but presents the opportunity to join a national delivery team and work with designers all across the UK and internationally through our Global Technology Centre.
The opportunity will require candidates to be client-facing as well as being involved in the day-to-day design and management of projects. It is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications engineer to further develop their career within a leading building design consultancy.
This role will allow development of existing technical skills as well as providing potential to expand digital and project management skills.
To be considered for this opportunity;

You should ideally be degree qualified, or equivalent qualification in a Communications, Electronic Engineering, or ICT related discipline.

Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or be working towards Chartership.

Experience working on projects across a number of our focus markets (Nuclear, Defence, Infrastructure, Government, and Transportation).

Experience of designing building systems including.
-
Building Management Systems (BMS),
-
Video Surveillance Systems (VSS),
-
Access Control Systems (ACS),
-
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS),
-
Experience of designing Public Address Voice Alarm (PAVA) systems

Experience of designing structured cabling systems, including copper and fibre optic systems and the associated physical network infrastructure.

Good understanding of IP data networking, systems design, and the associated active and passive network infrastructure.

Some understanding of AV systems design.

A background of working in engineering consultancy, including an understanding of RIBA / BSRIA design stages, working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary design team.

Experience of attending site and monitoring works, including familiarity with the installation and commissioning stages of the project for communications systems and their supporting ancillaries (such as containment, power).

Ability to manage packages of work, taking charge of their own deliverables and the deliverables of others to successfully meet project deadlines.

Excellent report writing ability, with experience of writing specifications of varying detail to align with the requirements of the RIBA stages.

Experience of digital engineering technologies / Building Information Management (BIM), the ability to use key software packages such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD would be desirable.

Preferably, Hold UK BPSS Security Clearance.
