NSoIT(D) OpNet Test & Trials Manager
Hybrid (Corsham - approx. 2 days per week)
SC Clearance, UK Nationals Only
Up to £760/day Inside IR35
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced OpNet Test & Trials Manager to lead the System & System Integration Testing and Acceptance Testing of the New Style of Information Technology (Deployed) OpNet system. This role requires working closely with key project stakeholders to ensure successful acceptance into live service.
As part of the Integration Test & Trials (IT&T) team, you will define and implement testing strategies, manage test deliverables, and oversee acceptance events in alignment with project objectives. You will also play a key role in improving the project's testing strategy, ensuring that the team adheres to Agile methodologies and meets critical deadlines.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the Testing Team to drive the successful delivery of OpNet acceptance trials.

Develop and implement System Integration Testing strategies and plans.

Define testing scope within each release cycle.

Manage test resources throughout all stages of testing and acceptance.

Review and approve NSoIT(D) Test Scripts and Scenarios for Core/Hub Services.

Conduct formal and informal reviews of test documentation.

Maintain NSoIT(D) test plans, ensuring traceability and control over the testing process.

Support the development of technical test frameworks for the project.

Engage with key stakeholders and provide weekly status updates.

Present and conduct acceptance trials for military acceptance authorities.
Essential Experience & Skills
-
Minimum 3 years' experience in test, delivery, and acceptance procedures for complex Enterprise IT systems, ideally in a military environment.

Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing concepts (Unit Testing, Functional Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, Regression Testing, Performance Testing, User Acceptance Testing).

Experience preparing test documentation (test plans, scripts, evidence collection, defect reports, release notes).

Hands-on experience with test management and automation tools.

Proven leadership and communication skills, able to engage with diverse and challenging audiences.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changing project timelines.

Experience working within Agile methodologies.

SC Clearance (minimum requirement).
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
-
ISTQB Test Manager certification or equivalent.
-
Experience with military IS systems (e.g., NATO FAS, UK Base Services, MOD Business Applications).

Knowledge of Harbour Acceptance Testing (Maritime) and User Acceptance Testing (Land).
-
Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and working in both Waterfall & Agile methodologies.

Registered Incorporated Engineer status or a relevant Engineering/IT degree.
