Tendering Engineer (Major Projects)
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £70,000
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Tendering Engineer to join the Major Projects team. This role involves managing tenders for large-scale electrical projects, including DNO contestable works (11-33kV), renewable energy balance of plant works, and 66kV-132kV projects. You will be responsible for ensuring tenders are completed to time, budget, and in compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead tendering for multiple or major projects, ensuring alignment with standards and regulations.
- Oversee costing, quotations, and project timelines, managing critical dates effectively.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards (e.g., HASAWA, NRSWA, C.O.S.H.H.).
- Identify commercial opportunities and report to senior management.
- Produce front-end programmes using project management tools.
- Conduct post-project reviews to assess financial and delivery performance.
- Collaborate with Major Projects teams to ensure efficient project implementation.
- Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, representing the company in meetings.
- Attend site surveys and ensure high standards of quality are maintained in all tendering work.
- Contribute to process improvements and ensure all work meets quality standards.
Key Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an electrical-related subject (HNC, HND).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in ICP or Major Projects at 33kV.
- Experience using Microsoft Project and CAD for site layouts.
- Strong understanding of HV electrical projects, ICP sectors, and statutory requirements.
- Familiarity with health and safety practices, risk assessment, and industry regulations.
- Proven ability to manage commercial projects in a multi-divisional environment.
