Job description
This role involves supporting the planning process and ensuring compliance with statutory duties related to local highways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responding to consultations from the Local Planning Authority and third parties within specified timeframes
- Assessing technical submissions related to planning applications and development control
- Providing guidance on pre-application enquiries and planning applications
- Managing section 38 and section 278 Agreements, including technical approvals and inspections
- Facilitating Street and Property Naming and Numbering and conducting Highway Searches
- Ensuring the company's compliance with relevant legislation such as the Highways Act 1980 and the Town and Country Planning Act 1990
- Collaborating with internal teams to deliver high-quality services and solutions
Job Requirements:
- Experience in highways or planning development control
- Proficiency in highway design and development management
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines, including the Manual for Streets and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
- Formal qualifications such as a degree in Planning or Engineering
- Skilled in using Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
