Job description
Our client, a specialist in the power utilities and distribution sector, is currently seeking a Electrical Wireman for their substation engineering projects. This permanent role involves working on National Grid and DNO substations ranging from 11kV up to 400kV, including protection changes and new substation builds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing fitting and wiring tasks in substation environments
- Working on NG and DNO substations ranging from 11kV to 400kV
- Executing protection changes and new substation builds
- Maintaining high standards of safety and compliance with industry regulations
- Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure project success
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues on-site
- Ensuring thorough documentation and reporting of all work carried out
Job Requirements:
- Experience as a electrical wireman in power utilities
- Understanding of working with substations up to 400kV
- DNO / NG Authorisation (preferred)
- Proficiency in fitting and wiring tasks
- Knowledge of substation protection systems and changes
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
- Willingness to travel UK wide and stay away
- Full driving licence
