Job description
Inside IR35 - £30-£40 ph UMB
Candidates must hold the right to work in Ireland without sponsorship.
Our client, an esteemed company in the automotive sector, is seeking a skilled Hardware In Loop (HIL) Engineer on a contract basis. This role entails supporting the upcoming Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) programmes through functional safety sub-system testing using HIL test assets located in Shannon, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the onsite team and wider functional safety system engineering team
- Be present onsite 5 days a week in the customer workshop in Shannon
- Attend all team meetings as required
- Document work activities completed
- Raise impediments with the team promptly
- Work with embedded systems for power electronics components including On Board Charging, DC to DC converters, Battery Energy Management, Battery Management Systems, and supervisory circuits
- Implement automated tests that measure accurate timing sequences
- Model components as part of closed-loop testing methods in an HIL system
- Support lessons learnt and continuous improvement activities
Job Requirements:
- Experience in Electronics Engineering, HIL, and embedded electronics
- Familiarity with functional safety processes such as ISO26262
- Experience with National Instruments test equipment (PXI, data acquisition cards, CAN, LIN, Ethernet cards, analog output cards)
- Proficient in tools such as TestStand, VeriStand, and LabVIEW
- Ability to review requirements and test item documentation
- Experience creating test strategies and authoring test cases
- Expertise in leveraging test automation, executing tests, and reporting results
- Capability to raise product defects and develop/maintain HIL test assets
