Introduction
Our client, a leading insurance company in the IT sector, is currently seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of 8 skilled IT Support Engineers. The position is based in London, with occasional travel required to our offices in Bournemouth and Stockport.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of IT Support Engineers, providing guidance and support in day-to-day operations
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of IT support services to all employees
- Collaborate closely with other teams to deliver IT projects and initiatives successfully
- Utilize your ITIL experience to implement best practices and improve service delivery
- Oversee asset management, ensuring accurate inventory and timely replacements
- Demonstrate strong expertise across the Microsoft Suite, troubleshooting software and hardware issues
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement necessary changes
- Proactively monitor systems and address potential IT challenges before they impact operations
Job Requirements
- Significant experience in IT support, with a focus on desktop support
- Proven track record in managing and leading a team of IT professionals
- In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Suite and other relevant software
- Experience in asset management, including inventory tracking and procurement
- Strong understanding of ITIL methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to proactively identify and address IT challenges
