Our client, a leading entity in the technology sector, is currently seeking a Technical Architect for a contract role. This position involves working closely with the Microsoft 365 Security stack to design and implement secure, scalable, and robust technical solutions that meet business goals, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Design & Architecture:
  • Design secure, scalable, and robust technical solutions using the Microsoft 365 Security stack (e.g., Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Sentinel, Purview, Entra ID protection, etc.).
  • Develop security architectures that align with business goals, compliance requirements, and best practices.
• Implementation Oversight:
  • Lead or closely support the implementation of M365 security tools across the environment.
  • Ensure correct configuration and integration of tools within existing infrastructure and processes.
• Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Act as the technical authority within the small security team, mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers or analysts.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure, compliance, and application teams to align security initiatives with enterprise IT strategies.
• Security Operations Support:
  • Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for issues related to the M365 security suite.
  • Help refine security monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities, potentially using tools like Sentinel and Defender XDR.
• Risk Assessment & Compliance:
  • Support risk assessments and gap analysis in line with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations using Microsoft Purview and compliance centre capabilities.
• Documentation & Standards:
  • Create and maintain architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and security standards/policies.
  • Define and promote secure configuration baselines and architectural patterns.

Job Requirements:

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing technical solutions using the Microsoft 365 Security stack.
• Strong understanding of security architectures and best practices.
• Experience with risk assessment and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Proficiency in security monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members.
• Collaborative mindset to work closely with IT infrastructure, compliance, and application teams.
