Civil Infrastructure Technician

Private Development | Civil 3D | Permanent

Our client is currently seeking a Civil Infrastructure Technician to join their established civil engineering team in Berkhamsted. This is a permanent opportunity within a growing consultancy delivering private development infrastructure schemes across the UK, including warehouse and distribution, commercial, industrial, and residential developments.

This role is ideally suited to a technician‑level professional who enjoys hands‑on design and working collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary environment. Please note: this position is development‑infrastructure focused rather than highways‑led.


The Role

  • Working as part of an experienced civil engineering team on large‑scale private development projects
  • Producing Civil 3D designs and ground models for residential, commercial, industrial, and logistics developments
  • Supporting the preparation of technical submissions for highways and drainage works (including S278, S38, and S104)
  • Assisting engineers with detailed design development and coordination
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the wider business to deliver high‑quality technical outputs

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years' relevant experience in civil infrastructure design
  • Background in development infrastructure (not purely highways‑focused)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Experience with AutoTrack
  • Knowledge of MicroDrainage / Causeway Flow (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A proactive attitude and enthusiasm to develop technical skills and progress your career

  • Salary £35,000 - £43,000 (flexible for higher levels of experience)
  • Permanent role only (no contract options)
  • Office‑based hybrid model: 3 days per week in the Berkhamsted office (required)
