Our client, a local authority in the planning and buildings sector, is currently seeking an Area Team Leader/Building Control Officer Class 3H RBI to join their team on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing building control operations and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Providing expert advice on town planning and building control matters
- Conducting site inspections and assessments to ensure building projects meet safety and regulatory standards
- Preparing and presenting reports on building control activities and findings
- Liaising with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression
- Ensuring confidentiality and adherence to all relevant legal and contractual requirements
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies
- Supporting team members and facilitating effective communication within the team
Job Requirements:
- Experience in town planning and building control
- Strong understanding of planning regulations and building standards
- Ability to conduct thorough site inspections and assessments
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to provide two years of references/work history
