Our client, a leader in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking an Associate Data Fabric Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis in Farnborough. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and support Defence and National Security customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, implementing, and evolving event-driven data fabric architecture to support automation and AI-based systems
  • Building workflow automation capabilities for repeatable, governed analyst workflows
  • Delivering configurable data integration via curated connectors and standard transformation patterns
  • Engineering for Denied, Degraded, Intermittent and Limited (DDIL) communications environments, enabling edge deployments
  • Building streaming ingestion, event pipelines, and batch/stream processing workloads
  • Implementing metadata, lineage, and catalogue capabilities with policy-based security and governance

Job Requirements:

  • Experience as a data/platform engineer working on distributed systems in production
  • Hands-on experience with open-source data integration and streaming technologies
  • Experience in enabling workflow automation for technical users
  • Strong understanding of data modelling fundamentals, data contracts, and schema evolution
  • Experience designing for reliability, scalability, and operability
  • Strong practical security mindset focused on least privilege and auditability
