Role Summary

The Building Inspector will carry out site inspections, review plans, and ensure construction work complies with all relevant building regulations. You'll work closely with contractors, developers, architects, and homeowners to support safe, compliant construction throughout London and the Home Counties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Site Inspections - Monitor construction progress and assess compliance with approved plans and regulations.

  • Review Building Plans - Analyse drawings, specifications, and structural details.

  • Prepare Inspection Reports - Document findings, highlight non‑compliance, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Advise Stakeholders - Provide clear guidance to builders, designers, and clients.

  • Enforce Regulations - Issue notices and ensure corrective work is completed.

  • Maintain Records - Keep accurate logs of inspections, approvals, and correspondence.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Recognised Building Control Certification (RICS, CABE, CIOB, or equivalent).

  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction practices.

  • Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in building control, surveying, or construction management.

  • Familiarity with digital inspection tools and compliance software.
