Our client, a leading organisation within the nuclear sector, is currently seeking a Planning Co-Ordinator to join their team in Warrington. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative project delivering a variety of significant developments within a high-value project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
The Planning Co-Ordinator will be accountable to the Project Engineering Manager and will act as the principle point of contact for statutory and internal planning matters within the SWMRF project. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing planning applications (amendments, reserved matters, change of use, permitted development rights) using national and local planning provisions
- Producing Planning Policy and Context strategies, including Planning Policy conclusions
- Creating and reviewing Design and Access Statements
- Developing planning strategies and risk assessments
- Co-ordinating and reviewing planning submission documents
- Liaising with project stakeholders such as environmental management and construction teams to support planning application preparation
- Engaging in regular dialogue with the Sellafield Development Control team and other stakeholders
- Supporting the negotiation and discharge of planning conditions, planning appeals, and land tribunals
Job Requirements:
- A degree in urban planning, geography, a relevant science, or engineering field
- Membership of a relevant institution or professional body such as the Royal Town Planning Institute
- Practical experience in planning or a related field
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Proficiency in project management
- Knowledge of planning laws, regulations, and procedures
- Commitment to ongoing training and development
