Matchtech are seeking a Risk Engineer on behalf of a Global Leader in Commercial & Speciality insurance as they grow their UK Risk Engineering Team.
Known for its technical, engineering‑led approach and international footprint, the business partners with clients across power, energy, and large‑scale infrastructure. They're now seeking a Risk Engineer with strong electrical engineering foundations to support risk assessments across a diverse global portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conducting technical risk assessments across electrical infrastructure assets, power systems, and complex industrial environments.
- Travelling internationally to perform on‑site evaluations across multiple continents
- Producing clear, high‑quality engineering reports to support underwriting decisions
- Engaging directly with clients, operators, and internal stakeholders to understand operational
- risk.
- Reviewing electrical systems, HV/LV equipment, substations, and grid‑connected assets
- Supporting the wider risk engineering team on cross‑sector projects, including renewables where relevant
What You'll Bring:
- A strong foundation in Electrical Engineering (degree or equivalent experience)
- Experience from:
Grid Operators
DNOs / Electrical Infrastructure
Power Generation Environments
- Hands‑on exposure to electrical systems, substations, power plants, or similar operational environments
- The ability to translate technical detail into clear, commercially relevant insights
- Comfort with international travel and client‑facing work
- Renewables experience (Solar, Wind, BESS etc) is a bonus, but not essential
