BAE - Maritime Services, operating within the Defence & Security sector, is currently on the lookout for four talented and dedicated Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineers to join their team in Portsmouth. This is a contract role for a duration of 12 months, working inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply understanding of a range of ILS processes, tools, systems and techniques to review and analyse supplier data, components, or systems.
- Diagnose and resolve issues and problems for various ILS Support related situations.
- Coach and mentor other ILS Support engineers, effectively communicating technical Support matters.
- Work with a degree of technical autonomy, demonstrating a commitment to professional ILS principles and values.
- Support NATO Codification activities to ensure effective integration and delivery.
- Develop and produce specific ILS outputs consistent with contractual requirements.
- Produce procedures and process instructions to characterise the team's work.
- Schedule work to meet target schedule and cost demands.
- Validate the work of other engineers within the team and develop their technical skills.
- Communicate with customer representatives, classification authorities, and suppliers regarding technical issues.
Job Requirements:
- Understanding and experience of ILS (DEF STAN 00-600 and JSP 886) and Support Functions within major projects.
- Understanding of Support-related analysis techniques.
- Ability to carry out detailed data analysis and validation, making evaluative judgments based on experience.
- Spares modelling experience using OPUS 10 - desirable.
- Experience of using a Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR).
- Capable of thinking 'outside the box' and taking a consultative approach across the Support function.
- Ability to interrogate supplier data and make recommendations based on an informed analysis of outputs.
- Excellent communication skills enabling technical discussions with internal and external customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
- Self-leadership behaviours, strong commitment, and self-motivation.
- Degree or HND/HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Marine Engineering).
